Kelly, Jackson & Christianson, LLP was established in 2003 and now consists of three attorneys, two paralegals, and three experienced paralegal/legal secretaries.
We are rated "A-V", the highest rating, in the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. We serve both governmental and institutional clients including the County of Lake, the State Farm Group of Liability Insurance Companies, California Capital Insurance Group, and Pacific Gas & Electric. We have represented our insurance clients in both the defense of individual claims and the defense of bad faith actions brought against the carriers. We also perform legal work for Lloyds of London, several Sonoma County developers, businesses and numerous individuals.
Our practice is primarily civil litigation in personal injury, construction, employment, professional negligence, general commercial, environmental, and governmental entity liability cases. We regularly represent both plaintiffs and defendants.
A growing component of our practice is real estate transaction and litigation matters involving both private and public use issues, sales and purchase of commercial properties and businesses and the formation of business entities. In addition, we counsel our business and professional clients on employment and wage/hour issues and negotiate disputes before they become lawsuits.
Mr. Kelly is also a respected and professionally trained mediator who regularly assists parties resolve their claims, serves as an early neutral evaluator for the Federal Courts, and serves on settlement panels for the State Courts.
Our practice is predominantly based in Sonoma, Marin, Mendocino and Lake counties. Additionally, our work extends throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in both State and Federal Courts.

Phil Kelly
Mr. Kelly is a 1969 graduate of the University of San Francisco, and a 1975 graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law. Upon admission to the California State Bar in 1975, he worked in the Law Offices of Bell & Turer in Santa Rosa, where he worked in criminal defense. Mr. Kelly then worked as an associate, and in 1979 became a principal at Senneff Kelly PC.. Mr. Kelly is an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association, the California Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Defense Counsel, and the Redwood Empire Trial Lawyers Association. He is a past President of the Trial Lawyers Association and the Sonoma County Legal Aid Foundation. Mr. Kelly is a past elected member and two-term President of the Bennett Valley Board of Trustees for Bennett Valley Union School District, currently sits as a Director and is a past-President of the Schools Plus Educational Enrichment Foundation.
Mr. Kelly is a Judge Pro Tem for Superior Court in Sonoma County and regularly serves as a discovery referee and arbitrator upon appointment by the Court. He is a trained professional mediator and a member of the Arbitration and Mediation Center which provides services to litigants in Northern California.

Rob Jackson
Mr. Jackson is a 1978 magna cum laude graduate in English from the University of California, Davis where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi scholastic honor societies. He obtained his law degree from U.C. Davis in 1981. Following admission to the California State Bar in 1981, he was a research attorney for the Sonoma County Superior Courts, and worked as an associate in a number of firms, becoming a partner of O'Brien, Watters, Davis, Malisch & Piasta in 1994. He later worked as a senior trial attorney in the San Francisco office of corporate counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies from 1997 to 2003.
Mr. Jackson is a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association, a Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Court in Sonoma County, an arbitrator, and past board member of numerous non-profit organizations including Home Hospice, Montgomery High School Alumni and Schools Plus. He is a past member of the City of Santa Rosa Board of Community Services, and is a graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa. He has been a professor of legal ethics and professional responsibility at Empire School of Law since 1990. His practice includes civil litigation in the areas of personal injury, insurance coverage and bad faith, as well as real estate, construction and business disputes.

Clay Christianson
Mr. Christianson graduated with honors in history and political science from Tulane University in 1984 and obtained his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1987, where he was on the Dean's list. Mr. Christianson was admitted to the California State Bar in 1989 and has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar since 1987. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Santa Rosa Downtown Market, is active in the Boys Scouts of America, and is a past board member of the Sonoma County Bar Association and the Cardinal Newman Alumni Board. Mr. Christianson's practice includes civil litigation in the areas of construction, employment, civil rights, personal injury and real property. He is a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association and the Association of Defense Counsel.
